Not sure what type of flip-up seats you’re looking for? Let us help you! We can go over your ambulance specifications, equipment layout, and working style to help you select the right ambulance seat for your needs.
Save on price & space, not on safety.
In the last decade, ambulance safety and design has experienced dramatic improvements. With updated safety standards to match real-world data, ambulance manufacturers have reconfigured layouts for ergonomic design. In a profession traditionally fixated on patient care, manufacturers are now competing to build the best ambulance box for workplace productivity and safety.
Equipment layout and provider working style play a major part in ambulance safety and design. Placing critical equipment within reach of a seated provider, employing a “make ready” equipment system, and standardizing equipment locations throughout a department are some of the simple changes being made to ambulance units across the country. From brand chosen to position layout, equipment can have a major effect on the overall usability of an ambulance.
At EVS Ltd, we design our ambulance seats with these considerations in mind. Our Flip-Up Seats are no exception.
A great choice for Type II ambulances and more!
One of our most popular ambulance seating options for smaller ambulance modules are our Flip-Up Seats. They are the ultimate solution for space-saving comfort and safety. While they can be used in all types of ambulances, they are most popular in Type II units. Type II ambulances are a long wheelbase van with integral cab design. They are a popular choice for long-distant transport services because of their increased fuel efficiency. However, they generally do not make for practical emergency services because of their cramped spaces.
Available as a seating option in mobile command centers, blood drive units, telecommunication units, passenger transport vehicles, and prisoner transport vehicles, as well as ambulances, the low profile of a flip-up seat allows for more usable space in a vehicle. It is a practical solution to improving curb-side seating safety. A squad bench can be replaced by multiple flip-up seats for a safer, more comfortable alternative, making them a great choice as either OEM equipment or aftermarket retrofit. Several of our seats also flip down to create a second patient transport area with non-slip bumpers for superior backboard grip.
Call it a flip seat or fold down seat; it’s a great option either way.
A Flip-Up Seat from EVS Ltd meets or exceeds all applicable FMVSS (Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards) and SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) standards. On seats with seamless construction, they meet applicable Triple-K standards, now replaced by the NFPA 1917 Standard for Automotive Ambulances, and OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standards for quick removal of blood-borne pathogens.
Get in and get to work… fast!
We most recently introduced our revolutionary Backpack Belting System on Flip-Up Seats EVS 2160 and EVS 2169. This 6-point belting system allows providers to slip in and out of the top shoulder straps, like putting on a backpack. Only the lap belt must be clicked-in traditionally. This reduces the amount of time it takes to get in and out of the ambulance seat. In addition, the shoulder belts allow providers to safely move forward as far as they’d like, improving the chances an EMT will stay belted during transport while providing care. The straps pull back and engage in an accident like a traditional sash or shoulder harness strap does.
Our Flip-Up Seats offer many other options to increase provider comfort and safety, while maximizing ambulance space. If you are looking for a durable, comfortable seat, we encourage you to look at our selection of Flip-Up Seats in detail.
